Zoom Polling - View all poll results at one time during a meeting
Zoom's polling is a great feature. One tip that most users don't know is that you can view all polls' results during a meeting. By default, as the host, you can easily share one poll's results during the meeting, but you can launch a web browser and see the results of every poll. This may be handy when you need to discuss the poll results or schedule breakout rooms based on poll results.
Zoom - Blur your background - virtual background - New Feature
Zoom's latest update, 5.5.0, came out on February 1, 2021. One of the many new features is the ability to blur your background. You can still select a specific virtual background, but the blurred background is a great feature if you need added privacy.
Zoom admit Waiting Room users while in a Breakout Room
Zoom's Waiting Room & Breakout Rooms are both great features. One of the issues addressed with Zoom 5.4.9 released on 1/11/21, is if the Host was in a breakout room, the host didn't know if someone was in the Waiting Room. This issue has been resolved with this update from Zoom.
ZOOM : share multiple applications at once
Zoom has released a new update - version 5.4.3 - on November 16, 2020. This includes a feature that allows you to share multiple programs at once! This is a great new feature because now you can share two or more programs at one time. In this article, I will show you how to share both Excel and Word programs at once.
Pre-assign breakout rooms in Zoom
Zoom has an update in release 5.4.0 that allows pre-assigned attendees to join after the Breakout Rooms have been started. Now they can also be automatically assigned to their Breakout Room. ZOOM - Join Before Host with Time Limits
Zoom 5.4.0, released on October 26, 2020, now allows hosts to schedule meetings with Join Before Host with time limits. Now you can prevent participants from joining your meeting 2 hours before it starts! The host can allow participants to join 5, 10, or 15 minutes before the scheduled start time. The ability to join at any time is still available. The time limit feature is a great new feature.
Zoom Security Enhancements for May 2020
Zoom has an update that has major security changes: Unmute all participants is not available anymore, now consent is required if the host mutes and then unmutes a participant and meeting information can now be accessed when screen-sharing.
Zoom - Show host toolbar controls during screen share
In a Zoom meeting, when you share your screen, your Zoom window and meeting control toolbar is not included in the screen share. If you are training users to use Zoom, especially hosting a meeting, you may wish to include them. This is a great feature if you are showing someone else how to use the features of Zoom.
PowerPoint / Keynote as a Virtual Background
Zoom's Virtual Background feature is trendy. It is easy to share a PowerPoint or Keynote presentation in a Zoom meeting, but now you can share that presentation as a Virtual Background. Participants can view your video imposed directly on the screen share.
